Vision
Tikka Renovations started with a simple idea: that construction doesn’t have to be complicated or chaotic. With experience in home renovations, project management, commercial renovations, building inspection, and a passion for doing things right, we set out to build a company that puts people first — clients and crews alike.
The name “Tikka” comes from our dog, a fiercely loyal companion and a reminder of what matters: trust, connection, and showing up every day.

Our Story
Tikka Contracting is led by Matt Kinzel, a skilled and creative renovator with a deep history in both construction and community work. Matt brings hands-on experience from residential builders, commercial construction, and the municipal building department in Golden, B.C., along with running his own renovation business specializing in bathrooms.
After a decade working in Social Services—where he led employment programs and youth housing initiatives—Matt returned to the trades with a renewed purpose. While managing a social enterprise moving company, he also mentored his team through various renovation projects. Seeing how meaningful, skill-building work positively impacted his crew sparked the idea behind Tikka Contracting.
Rooted in values of customer care, creative craftsmanship, and fair employment practices, Tikka Contracting is about more than just renovations—it’s about building spaces and building people.
